Stradbroke Island and Maleny
We try to have an annual weekend away although that was not possible during COVID.
We went to Binna Burra for two years, three years in houses on
Stradbroke -- we even went to some yoga sessions, one on the
beach. We went to a house near Maleny one year. Lots of singing and fun.

International Women's Day
We were delighted to sing at the opening of Mu’ooz Social Enterprise's International Women’s Day lunch when they opened their West End restaurant on Mollison Street, West End, with more than 50 local women attending. The celebration was part of fundraising activities of Mu’ooz to support refugee women from Africa while they settle into their new lives in Australia.

CD Released for Flood and Cyclone Relief
July 2011: The Embers were thrilled to be one of 13 Queensland Community Choirs to record a track for Songs For Queensland, a fundraising CD for flood and Cyclone Relief. Our heartfelt thanks to the organisers and to the producer, the brilliant Simon Monsour, who kept us calm and drew out our most beautiful sound.
