We sang at Annerley Library for the international fete de la musique
About The Embers
We are a relaxed, friendly group of women who enjoy both the social aspect of getting together each week as well as the endorphin-triggering delight of singing together in harmonies. The main kinds of songs we do are: world music; folk music; contemporary; and peace-themed songs. All of our repertoire is acapella, mostly in 3-part harmony, and ranges from easy rounds, to more interesting arrangements that take longer to learn but offer the thrill of a challenge and the satisfaction of the achievement of something special.
- No auditions, no experience necessary. - You do not need to be able to read music.
The Embers choir was formed in 2006 from members of the West End Women's Chorus who wanted to continue singing together when the former group was coming to an end. Christine Grodd became our conductor the following year. We are women of all ages who love to sing together in harmony!
The Embers choir acknowledges the Turrubal, Jagera and Yuggera people, traditional owners of the land on which Brisbane is situated. We pay our respects to Aboriginal elders, past, present and emerging.
